extra credit McGangbang
McGangbang Sandwich
Ordering a sandwich called the “McGangbang” was one of the most interesting/funniest assignments that I had to do during my entire college years. I went to a nearby McDonalds in the mall and I ordered the sandwich. I went in at about 11 am so thankfully it wasn’t packed at all. When I asked for the sandwich, the lady who took my order gave me a funny face. She thought that I was messing around and that I was trying to play a joke on her, but when I stood there and continuously asked for the sandwich she started asking questions. I explained to her what the sandwich was and told her that I needed it made just the way I said. She told the people in the back to make the sandwich and I guess there was some type of miscommunication because the sandwich that I got from them was a Big Mac.
I went back to the counter and told the lady what had happened and told her how my order was messed up. On the receipt it said that I ordered a McChicken and a Mcdouble but what I got was a Big Mac. Normally I would be excited about this because I LOVE Big Mac’s and honestly I will try to order this sandwich again hoping that the staff messes up and gives me a Big Mac. The lady that took my order called over her manager and she also was confused and thought it was a joke what I ordered. They both were laughing about it and went to the back to help make the sandwich. (Still surprisingly there was no one else in the McDonalds at this time so they were able to go to the back to help and have fun make this sandwich.) Overall, it took about 5 minutes for them to create the sandwich and give it to me successfully. After explaining thoroughly what I wanted they were able to make what I ordered and keep me as a satisfied customer.
During the first time I ordered the sandwich, the communication from the cashier to the cook was not that great. They were all speaking Spanish so I couldn’t understand what she had said to the cook, but when I got my sandwich, I had received a Big Mac. Not only was this wrong but it was a completely different sandwich. The second time I ordered the sandwich, the manager came and I was able to thoroughly explain what I wanted. After thoroughly explaining, I was able to get the sandwich that I had wished for. If I were to give any recommendations on how to improve the communication is by giving thorough details on what you want and how you want it.
The organization of the staff was pretty well. At first when I ordered the sandwich, they probably didn’t understand what I ordered because maybe I wasn’t specific enough, but after thoroughly telling them what I wanted, they were able to work together to give me what I wanted. I feel that since I came at the right time, they were able to work together and have fun making my desired sandwich. If it were busier, than I feel like the workers might’ve been less happy about my order and probably would have taken a longer time since all the attention wouldn’t be on me. I think that all of the McDonalds are set up for handling “extra special” orders, as long as the communication from the cashier to the cook is precise. If I were to be the manager, I don’t think I would change much to accommodate an “extra special” order. I think that it was done fine and as long as the communication was correct, the order should be also. If anything, my order should have been highlighted or something of the sort so that the cooks know that this is not an ordinary order.
The person that had leadership traits during my visit was the manager. After talking to her and thoroughly explaining to her my order, she was kind to me and made me feel like my order was normal and funny and she then thoroughly explained the order to the cook. Not only was the manager able to get my sandwich for me correctly, but she also made me feel less embarrassed about my order and made me feel comfortable coming back again and ordering the sandwich again. Leadership is a skill that is needed in every type of work place, even in McDonalds. Without a leader, many things in a work environment wouldn’t get complete and not done in a timely fashion.
Overall this was a very exciting project and I had a lot of fun doing this. Also I ate the sandwich and to my surprise, it wasn’t that bad at all. I actually enjoyed it and probably will order it again. The staff did a good job working together to make the sandwich. The only thing that I would say that the McDonalds staff could do is work on their communication skills. With special orders like the one that I placed, they should be a bit more thorough so that the customer could be satisfied.

ABCD of DISC
After taking this DISC test, I was pretty impressed with the results. It’s actually pretty crazy to me how on point it was. I read the description to what category I was in and it fit me perfectly. The category that the test placed me in was category “I.” I read the description to the other categories and they didn’t fit me much. I was pretty shocked and amazed. It’s funny also because my friend beside me was getting upset and aggressive throughout the whole questions. He definitely was fit for group D and that’s where he was placed. We were laughing about that the whole time.
If I had a choice, I wouldn’t really pick any other choice because none of them fit me. I wish that I could be more in the “d” category because I would love to be able to take charge, but that’s just not the type of thing I do.
I feel like it is very important to know what a person’s type is to better understand them. If you know the type of person you are dealing with, then you would at least know what you are going to be facing and how to act. If you know the type of person you are going to be dealing with them you will know what to expect so it should have you well prepared for when I meet the person.
Having a test like this in business interactions would be great because like I said before you will know what you’re dealing with. If you are going to meet with an important person, then you would have an idea of what type of person they are so you can prepared for your meeting.

Power of Vision
After graduating from Baruch there are many goals I would like to reach. One of my goals is to get a Job at a good accounting firm. Another goal I have is to help out in my Indian Church and take Position in the board. The last goal I have is to make a basketball league in my county.
I am hoping to become a successful accountant and make a decent amount of money. I know that the road to becoming successful is not easy so there will be lots of hardships I will face. In order to be successful in the future, I will need to make the right decisions now. I will have to take my classes seriously and end my college career with a good resume. Along with school, I will also need to get a job, hopefully a paid internship. I know that getting an internship and getting good reviews from them will better the chances for me to get a job at a firm. Other steps that I can take are by beginning to study for my CPA exam now. Passing the CPA exam will get me more money and also more authority in my workplace.
Another goal I have is to help out in my church and take position in the board. My church has been part of me all of life. On Sundays we would have Sunday school and learn about our culture. At the time, it seemed boring and so pointless, but now that I think of it, it was a great learning period. No one should forget who they are and where they came from. I made dozens of friends through my church and I am friends with those people still to this day. The problem that is occurring now is that people aren’t involved as much. In the future, I would like to become a part of the church board to re-establish the Sunday school and also other fun activities. Ways that I can reach this goal is by taking steps right now. When I have the time, I'm going to try setting up church events and church field trips. A few years ago, we used to go on Ski trips and other things like that, but now we don’t have the money to do these things. Because of the money problems I'm going to try getting together with other church members and try putting together a Church fundraiser. Doing this would benefit both the Church and the people because we would raise money and we would interact with each other more. I am hoping that my friends will see the steps that I am taking and will try to follow me and help.
Another goal of mine is to start up a basketball league in my county. Maybe if that begins to prosper, I can branch it out and begins leagues in other places also. The reason that I want to do this is because for the fact that I love basketball. Basketball is what I played all of my life. I never made the school team, but I did play in church tournaments and many other tournaments. I feel that when kids don’t make school teams, then they usually stop trying to play as much. That’s how it was for me and a few of my friends. After failing to make the team, that dream was shot and they attempted other things. Basketball to me is a stress reliever and something that brings happiness. If I were able to make a league where kids can all play and improve their skills then I’d feel good about myself. Although this seems like it may be easy to do, it can be a very difficult job. I would have to find a place for us to play or even buy land and make a gym. Along with that I would have to get referees and coaches and other important people of the sort.
These are some of the goals I would like to reach.
